Dublinked is a partnership of the four Dublin Local Authorities and Maynooth University, launched in October 2011. The aim is to drive innovation and collaboration in the development of new urban solutions, using open data and with the city region as a test bed.
Dublinked is unique in combining an innovation network in parallel with and supported by a data sharing platform:
- Innovation Network Dublinked organises regular thematic activities and events to develop an eco-system around data-driven SME’s, and multinationals , developers, researchers, active citizen groups and public bodies. View latest events. [link]
- Open Data Platform Through the datastore, the Local Authorities publish over 300 datasets and encourage the reuse of this open data for research and the development of new products and services to address city region challenges. Browse the datasets [links to where?]
Our vision for Dublin is for a smart open city; open access to public data, open to new technology, open to new ways of working and new collaborations.
Smart Dublin is a collaboration framework for Dublin that enables the co-creation of solutions to priority city region challenges.
Led by the 4 Dublin local authorities it sets out key operational challenges faced by the city region across the areas of mobility, environment and energy. The framework provides a new approach to encourage the development of solutions that specifically address these real needs, with an emphasis on applying emerging technology opportunities.
It is a framework & platform to pitch ideas and solutions and to get involved!
