This weekend sees the launch of one of the largest International Hackathon events in the world, NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016. People from countries all over the globe will begin collaborating for up to 72 hours on over 25 different challenges facing the Earth.

Driven by NASA’s Open Innovation Initiative, the challenge invites citizens to connect and innovate to create solutions using open data. It aims to bring people with a variety of skills from different backgrounds together to share and build upon their ideas.
